About

Working Approach

In clinical work, Özgün Emre Yaylacı, Clinical Psychologist, considers it important to approach a person not only through the symptoms or difficulties they experience, but together with their life story, relationships, emotional needs, ways of thinking and recurring patterns.

The psychological support process is regarded as one that makes room for a person to understand themselves more closely, to make sense of the difficulties they experience, and to develop more functional ways of living. In this process, the aim is to accompany the person in noticing their own experience, regulating their emotions, and working on the recurring cycles in their life.

Clinical work follows an approach that is committed to ethical principles, consistent with scientific knowledge, and centered on the person’s subjective experience. From a perspective that draws on cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic psychotherapy theories, patterns of thought, emotion, behavior and relationships are considered together.

Clinical work is also carried out within a supervision process. Supervision is the process of regularly reviewing clinical work, with client confidentiality protected, together with a more experienced professional with regard to its ethical, theoretical and practical dimensions.

Areas of interest include psychological well-being, mental health literacy, attachment, secondary traumatic stress related to social media, and interpersonal relationships.
